Trying to hone their skills to master the Craft. However, many athletes do not ever stop long enough to focus on the machine that really allows them to play the sport they love. Without proper training and care the body will break down. We at bodyshop want you to fully be prepared for your activity and make sure that you can play it at your highest level possible. We must fuel the engine that allows us to be successful.

How long should my workout be?

It depends! There is no single workout duration that is perfectly suited for everyone but at Bodyshop Athletics, we offer 30-minute personal training workouts 6 days a week.

Some research suggests that because muscle soreness can peak two days post-exercise, one to two days of rest in-between workouts is recommended. However, every person and body style is different. At Bodyshop Athletics, we offer a free body assessment and can tell you exactly what workout routine you should strive for.

There is no magical number of times you should go to the gym every week, it all depends on your body, your goals, and your schedule! If your goals are just general fitness and health, then 3-5 days a week is sufficient. If you’re trying for weight loss, then 5-6 days would be your best bet. If you’re looking to build muscle, then 3-4 days works out. At Bodyshop Athletics, we tailor workouts to your body, your goals, and your schedule to ensure you’re getting the most out of every work out.

Research shows that working out twice a day has both benefits and drawbacks. When considering ‘two-a-days’, it is important to recognize your capability and health. Some benefits include increased training volume, performance gains, and accelerated muscle growth. The drawbacks can include overtraining risks and increased injury risks. The team at Bodyshop Athletics will guide you in the right direction of how many workouts you should be doing each day!

It truly depends on your goal and your workout style! Trainers can help you meet specific fitness goals and ensure your success. Personal trainers can also save you from injury caused by incorrect form when working out. Not everyone needs a trainer; if you are knowledgeable and capable of leading yourself through workouts, then a trainer is not necessary. Bodyshop Athletics offers personal training for the betterment of you.

Protein is essential for your bones, muscle, skin, and blood, and your body uses it to build and repair muscle. That being said, protein shakes are not magic bullets for muscle gain or definition. Meal prepping is an awesome way to monitor your food intake. The first step is to pick a day to prepare all your meals. Sunday is the best day for most because it gets you ready for the upcoming week. Step two involves picking the meals…are you choosing to prep breakfast, lunch, or dinner? Step three, USE PROPER CONTAINERS! You don’t want all of your hard work to go to waste by having your prepped meals spoil! Finally, focus on simple meals and learn to multitask. Bodyshop Athletics can help guide you through nutritional questions and concerns!

While cheat days are beneficial for the leptin levels of the body, they can become a slippery slope! It is important to follow some “cheat day” rules in order to stay consistent with your health. Don’t cheat too frequently, plan around special occasions, and don’t feel guilty! If you’re in need of a good workout after a cheat day, stop by Bodyshop Athletics for a great exercise!

Losing weight can be HARD. There are a few things to help you get rid of that stubborn belly fat: eat lots of fiber, take a walk daily, start strength training, down some protein before a workout, target your belly with ab exercises, make sleep a priority, cook your own meals, try a low-carb diet, and track calories. Bodyshop Athletics can walk with you on your journey to losing that stubborn belly!
